Gauteng Transport MEC calls taxi-related violence senseless, disturbing

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Transport MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela has condemned taxi-related violence in the province, saying it is senseless and disturbing.
She's called on the police to find the people behind the latest shooting in Soweto, where three taxi marshals were attacked.

One of the patrollers died in the area that's been gripped by years of taxi violence.
Tlabela said violence in the industry posed a threat to the well-being of communities.
The MEC's spokesperson, Lesiba Mpya, said: "She strongly condemns the violence, the use of shootings and killings as a means to resolve disputes. She has added that no form of disputes or disagreement justifies the use of violence."
