Cricket star Temba Bavuma humbled by school Oval renaming tribute

JOHANNESBURG – St David’s Marist Inanda school has renamed its McGregor Oval to the Temba Bavuma Oval.
“ St David’s Marist Inanda is proud to announce that the official renaming of the school’s renowned McGregor Oval to the Temba Bavuma Oval took place this morning on Tuesday, 1 April,” the school said on social media.

The Test and ODI captain attended the school in Johannesburg from 2005 to 2008.
He debuted in international cricket in 2014 and has since played 63 Tests, 48 ODIs and 36 T20Is.

The 34-year-old was last in action for the Proteas at the Champions Trophy last month, and will be preparing to lead the Test side in the World Test Championship at Lord’s, in London, in June
