According to a recent New York Times report, US President Donald Trump has established a programme called “mission South Africa” that entails turning some office spaces in Pretoria to refugee centres.

Speaking at a media briefing on Tuesday, ANC secretary general Fikile Mbalula says America is making unfounded claims against the South African government.
"The refugee centres, that is just madness that you can build refugee centres in a country as peaceful as South Africa and claim people are being subjected to genocide. The real genocide is happening there in the middle east, that is what needs to be curtailed.”
The ANC is holding a post-NEC media briefing at Luthuli House today.
