The little girl was allegedly raped at school in 2024, but the matter received little attention from law enforcement authorities.
The league's national convenor, Nothando Shozi, has also added her voice.
“The whole country is outraged by the tragic case of Cwecwe. She was only seven. She was a baby, and the school, Bergview College, was supposed to be a place of safety for her.”
Medical tests allegedly confirmed that the child was sexually abused, but her mother claims nothing was done.
The mother also alleges that the young girl was removed from school following the incident.
Shozi has called for justice.
“It's concerning that there is medical evidence confirming abuse, but yet justice continues to be delayed. The justice system in this country needs to work for the vulnerable.”
