Bantry Bay runner hit by alleged drunk driver, flung over side wall

A man has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after hitting two runners on Victoria Road in Bantry Bay on Sunday morning.
Both runners, a man and a woman, were reportedly thrown into the air from the force of the impact.
The woman was flung over the wall on the side of the road leading to a rescue operation.

The runners were taken to the hospital and appeared to be okay.

The man has been discharged with no broken bones, and the woman is still being assessed but is stable.
