JOHANNESBURG - Eskom says it will keep loadshedding at bay this weekend as the national grid remains stable.

The reassurance follows bouts of load shedding implemented at short notice in previous weeks when households had to contend with varying stages of power cuts.

"Although the power system is still constrained, it remains stable, with emergency reserves being strategically utilised to meet electricity demand, especially during peak periods," said Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena.
