JOHANNESBURG - The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in the Eastern Cape said it will now work on building a watertight case against former South African Airways (SAA) board member Yakhe Kwinana.
The East London Magistrates Court on Friday granted Kwinana bail of R2,000.

She was arrested last week on charges of extortion and malicious damage to property, among others.
Kwinana was allegedly linked by the South African Police Service (SAPS) to a series of taxi violence and extortion cases in East London, where it is alleged that she was always accompanied by armed men when she threatened her victims and extorted money from them.
As part of her bail conditions, the former board member is required not to communicate with witnesses in the case and to present herself to police stations both in Gauteng and East London upon travel.
"We accept the judgment on the bail application of Ms Kwinana, says NPA spokesperson Luxolo Tyali.
"As the NPA, we now focus on ensuring that we work with law enforcement agencies so that we present a formidable case when the trial commences."
