JOHANNESBURG - A bouncer linked to the alleged torture of patrons at the Zanzou nightclub will return to court on Friday morning for a formal bail application.

The 41-year-old was arrested in Yeoville in February after videos went viral showing young men being physically and sexually assaulted by bouncers at the club.

The club has since been closed.

The Congolese national is accused of assault and torture of young boys at the Zanzou nightclub.

He also faces eight additional charges of compelled sexual assault.

During his last court appearance, he could not be filmed or named as he was due to be taken for an identity parade.

The state is expected to oppose bail.
