JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) is kickstarting its National Executive Committee meeting on Friday with party officials gathering at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg.
The four-day meeting will focus on organisational matters and international issues affecting the country.
The party is also launching its smart card membership system, which forms part of its renewal programme.
The ANC is introducing a new system that prints smart cards for its members, enhancing security measures.
ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa was the first to test the printing machine and has approved the launch of the party’s new membership card.
Later in the day, the party will begin discussions on critical issues, including Pretoria's diplomatic fallout with the United States.
This topic is expected to be a key focus during the NEC meeting.
