JOHANNESBURG - United States (US) President Donald Trump has officially appointed Leo Brent Bozell III as South Africa’s new ambassador.
He replaces Reuben Bridgety, whose tenure ended in January.
Bozel, a media commentator, takes over the reins at the height of tensions between South Africa and the US.
Trump has lauded the new diplomat, whom he says has exposed fake news hypocrites for years.
He added that the appointment will bring fearless tenacity, extraordinary experience and vast knowledge to a nation that desperately needs it.
