JOHANNESBURG - The men being investigated for the murders of six Soshanguve community patrollers will not be charged for the crimes until they are positively identified by their victims.
Two men, aged 27 and 50, appeared in the Pretoria North Magistrates Court on Wednesday, after they were arrested on Monday following an attack on the patrollers on Saturday morning.
But they have only been charged for possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.

The 27-year-old has also been charged for being in the country illegally.
The two accused appeared in the Pretoria North Magistrates Court separately, even though they are being investigated for the same crime.
That’s because the men have not been charged for the Soshanguve patroller murders.
The men could also not be filmed or named as they are due to appear in an identity parade.
Once they have been positively identified, they will be formally charged with the murders of six patrollers and the attempted murders of six others.
Their matters will also be combined, and they will be tried together.
