JOHANNESBURG - Two suspects arrested in connection with the deaths of six community safety patrollers in Soshanguve are set to appear in the Pretoria North Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

A group of patrollers from the "Marry Me" informal settlement was attacked by suspected criminals who stoned and shot them dead over the weekend.

The suspects, aged 27 and 50, were arrested on Monday in a multidisciplinary operation and were both found in possession of illegal firearms.

The pair will appear on charges of murder, attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Meanwhile, the Hawks have revealed that the suspects arrested in connection with the attack are linked to other crimes they committed in the same week.

Hawks spokesperson Christopher Singo said the suspects are linked to several house robberies and murders that took place on Friday.
