Marry Me informal settlement residents to have opportunity to air frustrations on crime at imbizo

JOHANNESBURG - Residents of the Marry Me informal settlement in Soshanguve will be given an opportunity to air their frustrations about crime in the area on Wednesday.
The Gauteng government officials will meet with residents at a community imbizo, following the killing of six community safety patrollers on Saturday morning.
Four other patrollers are still in the hospital under police guard, following the attack
Two suspects have been arrested and are appearing in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
After visiting the area on Sunday, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi made a commitment to return to the area to hear residents’ concerns around safety.
Spokesperson Vuyo Mhaga said that Wednesday's imbizo would also cover service delivery matters.
"They will be later at 16h00, be joined by the community in an imbizo where they will engage on various issues on top of mind. It will be the issue of crime, unemployment and other social ills that the community faces."
