JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) has painted opponents to the National Health Insurance (NHI) as "anti-human rights".
DENOSA, the country’s largest nursing union, is currently holding its ninth congress at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg.
The three-day conference will discuss and resolve the union’s position towards a number of issues affecting the healthcare sector.
DENOSA president, Simon Hlungwani, said the organisation was fully behind the implementation of NHI.
"Anyone who views government services as human rights, social justice, should not challenge the universal healthcare coverage, in this regard, the NHI. So all those who are challenging, you must just know they are anti-social justice, they are anti-human rights."
