JOHANNESBURG - A man accused of capturing the South African Police Service (SAPS)’s supply chain has approached the Pretoria High Court for the State to join all the matters against him.
Kishene Chetty is facing several fraud, corruption and money laundering charges for scoring dodgy SAPS tenders.
On Monday, he appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates Court.
However, the matter was postponed owing to no water supply in the building.
The corruption-accused businessman is on the Investigating Directorate’s radar for several tenders including the supply of toners for R800,000, the branding of police cars for R56 million rand and a tax matter.
All these cases are being heard in different courts, and Chetty wants them combined.
He’s accused the state of duplicating the charges against him, exaggerating his alleged offences.
Chetty also wants the entire investigations team removed, and his bail conditions relaxed, saying he cannot even attend his children’s school events.
The state is opposing both of Chetty’s requests.
