Cape Town police make gun-related arrests in Silvertown, Parow

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police have made several gun-related arrests over the last 24 hours.
In Athlone, members of the anti-gang unit searched a property in Anthony Walk, Silvertown, after receiving reports of a shooting incident.
Police said they found a 19-year-old male in possession of a 9mm pistol and illegal ammunition.
Police spokesperson, Wesley Twigg, said two suspects were arrested at the premises.
"The members also searched another male who was found in one of the rooms in the house and searched him and found a .38 Special revolver with five rounds of ammunition in his possession. The 31-year-old suspect faces charges for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition."
And in Parow, police arrested three men who were found in possession of a 9mm pistol.
They were searched after running off when they saw police patrolling the area.
The suspects are to appear in the Parow Magistrates Court once charged.
