Ramaphosa highlights importance of rejecting 'politics of divisiveness' after Rasool comes home
This comes amid growing tensions between Pretoria and the US that recently led to the expulsion of former ambassador to America Ebrahim Rasool.

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has highlighted the importance of South Africans rejecting what he calls ‘the politics of divisiveness’ emerging in many parts of the world.
This comes amid growing tensions between Pretoria and the US that recently led to the expulsion of former ambassador to America Ebrahim Rasool.
Rasool was declared persona non grata by the US, ten days ago after he criticised US President Donald Trump’s foreign policy.

Rasool arrived back on home soil on Sunday.
Writing in his weekly newsletter on Monday, President Ramaphosa further called on his citizens to challenge the completely false narrative that the country is a place in which people of a certain race or culture are being targeted for persecution.
This after the Trump Administration froze aid to the country over a law Trump alleged allows land to be seized from white farmers.
