CAPE TOWN - The state's main witness in the Joshlin Smith trial has been accused of lying under oath.
Attorneys for the accused questioned Lourentia Lombaard about discrepancies in her testimony again on Monday.
The former accused turned state witness’ testimony implicates Joshlin's mother Kelly Smith and her two co-accused for Joshlin's disappearance.
Defence attorney Nobahla Mkabayi who represents accused number two Stevano van Rhyn has accused state witness Lourentia Lombaard of lying to the court.
Mkabayi questioned Lombaard on Monday about why she went to ask Kelly Smith for food the day before Joshlin went missing.

Lombaard testified that she went to Smith to ask for food because her two children were hungry.
However, when questioned on Monday Lombaard told the court her boyfriend had made arrangements for her to buy food for the children.
Mkabayi asked Lombaard why would she need to ask Smith for food if she knew her boyfriend would feed the children.
Mkabayi told Lombaard the reason why there are so many discrepancies in her testimony is because she's lying.
Lombaard's cross-examination is set to continue on Tuesday.
