Collision involving bus and truck claims 4 lives on N1 near Mabopane

JOHANNESBURG - Four people died following a collision between a bus and a truck on the N1 near Mabopane.

The accident happened on Monday morning.

The bus was carrying 117 passengers, while the diesel truck had one occupant.
Both vehicles caught fire.

The City of Tshwane said the four passengers died on the scene while nine other people were injured, one critically.

The injured patients are being treated at the nearby Bela-Bela Hospital and Jubilee District Hospital.

The cause of the collision has not yet been determined.
