Suspect in murder case of two Rea Vaya bus drivers to remain in custody

JOHANNESBURG - A man arrested in connection with the murder of two Rea Vaya bus drivers has been remanded in custody.
He will appear again at the Protea magistrates court next week.
The suspect was arrested on Tuesday after the police acted on a tip-off and found him in Linden north of Joburg.
Earlier this year, two Rea Vaya bus drivers were shot and killed in two separate incidents.
Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said that investigations are continuing.
"One suspect was arrested on 18th of March 2025 in connection to the two shooting incidents that happened on the 3rd of February 2025 at Protea and Mapetla respectively. The suspects' vehicle which is suspected to have been used during the commission of crime was circulated and led to the arrest of the suspect in Linden".
