Norwood top cop arrested for theft and fraud

JOHANNESBURG - The Norwood police station commander has been arrested on charges of theft and fraud.

The top cop was nabbed this week after he was found with confiscated goods in his possession.

It's understood the goods were taken in a bogus raid.

The Norwood police station has been in the spotlight for alleged corruption and dodgy relationships with suspected criminals.

Gauteng's portfolio committee on public safety says the station has been on its radar.

Chairperson Bandile Masuku said: "goods which were confiscated during a bogus raid later disappeared, and they were found with him in his possession, and it was alleged that he was the one that was organizing the whole police operation."
