Johannesburg Metro police to facilitate talks between Johannesburg mayor Dada Morero and community members in Eldorado Park following a service delivery protest.
A group blocked the N12 highway on Friday morning, demonstrating over service delivery issues.
Police said residents agreed to take their grievances to the Johannesburg mayor in a memorandum.
JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla said "from what we understand they are protesting over service delivery issues particularly over billing of water and electricity. Law enforcement officials were deployed to the scene. They were able to engage with community members and they peacefully dispersed. They are in the process of facilitating an engagement with the executive mayor for Johannesburg for some time next week."
