Rabie Ridge residents protest over power outages
The community said they've been without electricity for at least two weeks now.

JOHANNESBURG - Residents in Rabie Ridge, near Midrand have blocked roads protesting over power outages.
The community said they've been without electricity for at least two weeks now.
Roads have blocked roads between the Rabie Ridge police station and the Allan Ridge secondary school. Some intersections were closed with stones and burning tyres.
Residents have called on City Power to restore supply.
“They send their contractors here, they fix this part here, the next part breaks, we don’t have electricity here it will be on today for nine hours then off again two days three days.”
The residents have threatened to intensify their protest until power is restored.
Due to ongoing power outages, residents of Rabie Ridge have blocked down Stilt Avenue and Freedom Drive.
