CAPE TOWN - The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has committed to making available all the names of the Post Office branches that will be open for social grant beneficiaries who fail to meet the deadline for their card swaps.
Beneficiaries have until Thursday to switch from their SASSA gold cards to the new Postbank black cards.

The Postbank said it has helped more than one million beneficiaries in the process and will continue to issue cards after the deadline.
SASSA officials in the Western Cape briefed the Provincial Standing Committee on Social Development earlier on Tuesday on the progress made in the migration process.
The agency's acting regional manager Sibusiso Nhlangothi said beneficiaries who miss the deadline must visit selected Post Offices with their identity document (ID) to get their money.
"What we need to do from here is to make contact with Postbank to indicate exactly which Post Office branches will be open for beneficiaries to go and then we will circulate that and also ask Postbank to circulate them on their side as well. But it's going to be very important to name the Post Office branches by name."
