JOHANNESBURG - African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Fikile Mbalula is expecting a report from the party's structure in Johannesburg on its deteriorating relationship with coalition partners in the metro.
Eyewitness News has reliably learned that the ANC in Joburg wants to terminate its relationship with ActionSA after it refused to support its adjustment budget last week.
This might see ActionSA's Nobuhle Mthembu, who has become the Speaker of council through the ANC's backing, being removed from the position.
Mbalula said that the ANC's regional and Gauteng leadership were looking into the matter.
"I'm not going to comment on that up until we get the full report and also we clear issues in the coalition clearing house. But I know that our provincial task team, led by Hope Papo, and our REC are seized with this matter. So we will pronounce after that. It's still early for now but those matters need to be attended to."
