JOHANNESBURG - Annual consumer price inflation (CPI) remains unchanged at 3.2% in February.
This is the same inflation reading that Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) reported for January.
The pause follows three consecutive increases from last year’s lows.
Stats SA released the latest inflation print on Wednesday morning.
The director for CPI operations at Stats SA, Lekau Ranoto, says the monthly change in inflation was a 0.9% increase.
“Recreation, sports and culture, food and non-alcoholic beverages, beverages and tobacco and communication recorded higher annual inflation rates in February. Inflation cooled for several product categories, most notably personal care and miscellaneous services, health, restaurants and accommodation.”
