CAPE TOWN - Police constable Mickeyla Daniels took the stand in the Joshlin Smith trial on Monday, to testify against her sister Kelly Smith.

Smith and her co-accused Jacquen Appollis and Stevano van Rhyn face charges of kidnapping and human trafficking for Joshlin's disappearance.

The accused are on trial in the Western Cape High Court sitting in the Saldanha Bay multi-purpose centre.

On Monday, Daniels, Smith's younger sister, told the court she had questioned Smith about Joshlin going missing for more than a week.

Daniels said Smith sometimes avoided answering her questions, saying she had already told police what happened.

The constable who is stationed at Upington Police Station, later testified Smith told her Joshlin was still in Saldanha Bay seven days after her disappearance.

Smith allegedly told Daniels that someone wanted to sell Joshlin but could not do so because the town had become a hotspot.
