CAPE TOWN - Former-accused-turned-state witness Lourencia Lombaard says Kelly Smith told her the woman who took Joshlin Smith wanted the child for her eyes and skin.

Lombaard said she witnessed Smith sell her daughter to a sangoma for R20,000.

Smith, her boyfriend Jacquen Appollis and his friend Stevano van Rhyn are charged with kidnapping and human trafficking for the little girl's disappearance.

Lombaard said on 23 February, four days after Joshlin went missing, she met with Kelly at her shack in Middelpos.

Lombaard said she asked Kelly for her share of the money to keep quiet, after Kelly admitted she sold Joshlin to a sangoma for R20,000.

She said Smith told her that she too was being paid to keep quiet about selling her daughter.

Lombaard told the court that Smith told her that the person who paid for Joshlin wanted her for her eyes and skin.

Lombaard said the next time she saw Smith was after they were arrested for being involved in the little girl's disappearance.
