Daniels, who is a constable at Upington Police Station, said that her sister contacted her a few days after Joshlin went missing.
She told the court that she had been questioning Smith about Joshlin's disappearance throughout the week after she went missing but received vague answers from the accused.
The witness said that when she contacted Smith seven days after Joshlin went missing, Smith told her that Joshlin was still in Saldanha Bay and that someone wanted to sell Joshlin, but they couldn't because the town had become a hotspot.
Daniels told the court that during a live social media interview with prominent politician, Gayton McKenzie, Smith told viewers that Daniels, in her capacity as a police officer, told Smith that Joshlin was sold for R20,000.
Daniels denied this, saying the only information she received was from Smith.
The trial continues.
