SALDANHA BAY - Two State witnesses in the Joshlin Smith trial on Monday shared more allegations to show that Kelly Smith was complicit in her daughter's disappearance.

Smith, Jacquen Appollis and Stevano van Rhyn are charged with kidnapping and human trafficking after Joshlin went missing in February last year.

The accused are on trial in the Western Cape High Court sitting in the Saldanha Bay Multi-Purpose Centre.

Former-accused-turned-State witness, Lourencia Lombaard, broke down in tears when she ended her testimony.

Lombaard previously testified that she witnessed Smith sell Joshlin to a sangoma for R20,000.

Smith allegedly told Lombaard that the woman who took Joshlin wanted the child for her eyes and skin.

Smith's sister, Mickeyla Davids, later testified that Smith told her Joshlin was still in Saldanha Bay seven days after her disappearance.

The accused allegedly told Davids that someone wanted to sell Joshlin but could not do so because the town had become a hotspot.

The trial continues.
