Man, 46, in court soon after police uncover drug lab in Alberton, GP

JOHANNESBURG - A suspect connected to a drug laboratory in Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng is set to appear in court soon.
The 46-year-old man was arrested this past Friday following a search conducted at a property in South Crest, Alberton.
During the operation, police discovered 7,000 mandrax pills, valued at over half a million rand.
Police spokesperson Amanda van Wyk says their tactical teams successfully traced the whereabouts of the fully operational drug laboratory.
"Further investigations led the team to a property in Vanderbijlpark, where they uncovered a fully operational drug laboratory. Seized items included a tablet press, various chemicals, drug manufacturing equipment, and a quantity of mandrax powder and mandrax tablets with an estimated value of R500 000."
