JOHANNESBURG - Five FNB ATMs were bombed at a shopping mall in Hammanskraal in Pretoria.
A group of around 30 suspects stormed the premises, targeting the ATMs and a drop safe in one of the shops.
When police arrived at the scene, a shootout erupted, resulting in a private security officer being shot and wounded.
SAPS spokesperson Mavela Masondo says investigations are ongoing.
"No arrests have been made thus far, and police are still on the lookout for the suspects. It cannot be confirmed at this stage how much money was taken from the ATMs and the shop. Police have since opened a case of attempted murder and ATM bombing for investigation."
