CAPE TOWN – A former accused who turned State witness is set to continue her testimony in the Joshlin Smith trial on Friday.
Joshlin's mother, Kelly Smith, Jacquen Appollis and Stevano van Rhyn face charges of kidnapping and human trafficking for the little girl's disappearance.
The accused are on trial in the Western Cape High Court sitting in the Saldanha Bay Multi-Purpose centre.
Charges of kidnapping and human trafficking against Lourencia Lombaard were withdrawn last year after she decided to turn state witness.
Lombaard took the stand briefly on Thursday to testify against Smith, Appolis and van Rhyn.
Earlier this week, preacher Steven Coetzee told the court about Smith’s intention to sell her three children for R20,000.
It's the State's case the accused sold Joshlin to an unknown woman in a white vehicle.
Smith allegedly met the woman a day before Joshlin disappeared, before returning home with a package of money.
Lombaard on Thursday told the court on the same day she was on her way to visit Smith, she saw a white bakkie parked near Smith's shack.
