SALDANHA BAY - Joshlin Smith's Grade One school teacher has testified how Kelly Smith told her a Nigerian man warned her that Joshlin was on her way to West Africa.
Smith, Jacquen Appollis and Stevano van Rhyn are charged for selling Joshlin to an unknown woman.
The accused are on trial for kidnapping and human trafficking in the Western Cape High Court sitting in the Saldanha Bay Multi-Purpose Centre.
Diazville Primary School teacher, Edna Maart, took the stand on Wednesday to testify.
Maart told the court that when she met Smith during a search for Joshlin, Smith told her she had received a phone call from a Nigerian man.
"This person mentioned to her that she must play quickly."
Maart told the court that Smith said the man told her Joshlin was on a ship, in a container, on its way to West Africa.
Smith's attorney told the court his client insists the phone call was from a "medium" named "Johan".
The trial continues.
