DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) police are sure that most cash-in-transit heists appear to be inside jobs.
The KZN police management met with various businesses in Umhlanga, north of Durban on Tuesday morning.
Concerns were raised about the various crimes affecting businesses in the province.
"These incidents are not only unique to KwaZulu-Natal, they are happening across the country but what we’ve been talking about for years now is that there are specific companies that are mostly targeted," said KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
He added that suspected criminals behind these heists were more informed than the police of the money vehicles' movements.
"None of those companies’ vehicles are being bombed while empty, so each time the vehicle is attacked, is it because it has money in it."
