JOHANNESBURG - Ebenhaezer Dibakwane, who is well-known for his unconventional humour and unique stand-up comedy style, has been dealing with depression for years, according to his family.
Dibakwane, who was 31 years old, died on Friday.
He was known for his ability to make people laugh, but he also battled melancholy, and the initial evidence points to his suicide, according to a statement issued by his family on Tuesday.

After winning the Savanna Comics' Choice Newcomer of the Year Award, the relatively young comedian made headlines.
He went on to win a second Savanna Comics' Choice Award for Intermediate Comedian of the Year and received two more nominations for Comic's Choice, demonstrating his great popularity and respect within the profession.
His funeral will be held in Mbombela on Friday, and a memorial service honoring his life will be held at the Bioscope on Wednesday.
