JOHANNESBURG - Two pedestrians have died after being knocked over by Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) officers in Soweto on Monday.
The officers crashed into a crowd while responding to a flare-up of a feud between two rival taxi associations.
Witwatersrand African Taxi Association (WATA) and Nancefield-Dube West Taxi Association (NANDUWE) have been involved in a long-standing fight over routes between Orlando and Mofolo.

"Unfortunately, our officers were involved in an accident with another vehicle that reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign when the accident happened. Both vehicles collided and then they collided with the three pedestrians who were standing at the side of the road, unfortunately, two pedestrians lost their lives."
