JOHANNESBURG - The Nancefield Dube West Association (Nanduwe) has taken responsibility for the road closures in parts of Soweto this morning.
Roads between Orlando West and Mofolo were closed due to what is understood to be a dispute over routes.
Nanduwe told Eyewitness News that it does not want to share the routes with the Witwatersrand African Taxi Association (Wata).

Last week, the Johannesburg high court ruled that Wata could operate on the same routes as Nanduwe.
Despite this, the routes remain contested with the associations not agreeing to work together.
Nanduwe’s Joseph Ngcobo said they were not happy about the judgement.
“We have never worked on the same routes as Witwatersrand taxi association. We must make this clear that we do not benefit from working alongside them. We can’t share routes.”
He added that they would not be operating until government intervenes.
