Witness number six, Namhla Tinzi, on Monday described how Kelly Smith asked her for help on the day Joshlin went missing.

Tinzi said that she resides on a plot adjacent to Kelly Smith's shack in Middelpos.

On the day Joshlin went missing, Tinzi said that she was making her way home from work just after 5pm when Smith approached her to ask if she'd seen Joshlin.

Tinzi told the court when she suggested they look at Joshlin's uncle's house in Diazville, Jacquen Appollis told her Joshlin wouldn't be there because it was too far for her to walk.

She said that after searching for the child at various locations in the neighbourhood, she suggested they phone the police to report Joshlin missing.

The trial continues.
