JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has apologised to President Cyril Ramaphosa for Johannesburg’s appalling conditions.
This follows Ramaphosa’s complaint earlier on Thursday morning, expressing frustration over the poor state of the metro.
Ramaphosa made these remarks during his meeting with Lesufi's governmemt and the municipality’s leaders at the Joburg city council on Thursday.
The meeting focused on finding urgent solutions to the many service delivery issues in Johannesburg.
"The environment that one observed was not a pleasing environment. I say this so that we can improve immensely."

That was President Cyril Ramaphosa telling the city of Joburg to get its house in order, as the metro faces serious service delivery challenges.
Ramaphosa said it has been unpleasant to welcome G20 delegates to Johannesburg in its current poor state.
But Gauteng Lesufi said it won’t happen again.
"I committed on behalf of government that we will not have a situation that the president has identified. I apologize to the president that he had that particular experience."
Lesufi said he would ensure the metro is restored to its former glory.
