Johannesburg Roads Agency teams are clearing debris and concrete barriers that shifted as a result of the force of the flood waters.
Ward councillor for the Jukskei Park area, Mark Van de Merwe area said they are hoping to have the bridge open as soon as possible.
"We've got JRA on-site at the moment, they are clearing away the debris and were expecting storms again at 5 o'clock tonight. My biggest concern. Clear the debris and open up the channels so that any water coming down is gonna go straight through the bridge and not over the bridge."
