JOHANNESBURG - Family members of the 10 people who died in a crash in the Free State are expected to identify the bodies of their loved ones.
The bus, with 33 passengers on board, collided with a truck on the N6 in Reddersburg on Wednesday.
Free State emergency services spokesperson Sipho Towa said the families will be assisted with the process.
“From the passenger list from the bus, we were able to identify those who were injured, those who were taken to the hospital, and also, we were able to possibly identify the next of kin for those that were deceased. We started contacting them, and today [Thursday], we are expecting that the families will start coming in.”
He added that some of the injured passengers have been discharged from hospital.
