This follows recent floods that have claimed the lives of 20 people in two weeks.

Simelane started in the eThekwini Metro Municipality on Tuesday, and will later conclude her visit on the south coast.

KwaZulu-Natal Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma said, “We must thank the minister. She’s just hit the ground running. She’s already allocated R100 million for the province of KwaZulu-Natal because we are spending more in terms of expenditure pattern. They are still going to add more but it’s a reality [that] it’s not going to be adequate.”
