Mchunu says SAPS in process of finalising crime-fighting plan
Mchunu says the plan will bring together different units under one umbrella to combat crimes like taxi violence.

CAPE TOWN - Police Minister Senzo Mchunu says they’re in the process of finalising a new crime-fighting plan which will reform visible policing.
Mchunu says the plan will bring together different units under one umbrella to combat crimes like taxi violence.

Mchunu was responding to oral questions from Members of Parliament in the National Assembly as part of the peace and security cluster.
Mchunu said the plan will add new units under visible policing, which will be divided into two.
"But also another section headed by the Divisional Commissioner, the combatting side of Vispol (Visible Policing), including TRT (Tactical Response Team) and National Intervention Unit and the task force. It will also see the introduction of new units like murder and robbery and taxi violence crimes."
