AG confirms MK Party's request for GNU's expenditure for 2025 budget speech to be investigated
The political party accuses gnu of mismanaging millions of rands on the preparations of the national budget speech which was postponed to March.

JOHANNESBURG - The Auditor-General confirms that it has received the Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK) Party’s request for an investigation into the Government of National Unity’s expenditure for the 2025 budget speech.
The political party accuses GNU of mismanaging millions of rands on the preparations of the national budget speech, which was postponed to March.

Last month, Minister of Finance Enoch Godongwana was scheduled to present the first speech under the GNU.
But it was postponed to allow GNU members more time to relook some of the aspects of the new budget.
The AG said it will respond to the party’s request once all requirements have been fulfilled.
"The AGSA will consider the request and respond to the party in writing after following its regulatory requirements and set due process on such requests."
