PRETORIA - A director of the Pretoria nightclub Zanzou has apologised to the group of young men who were assaulted by bouncers at the establishment.
Neo Moela shared his account of the incident during a media briefing in Johannesburg on Tuesday morning.
Two weeks ago, multiple disturbing videos surfaced on social media showing patrons being physically and sexually assaulted by bouncers.
Speaking through his legal representative, Zola Majavu, Moela distanced himself from the torture of patrons.
There have been calls for the management of the establishment to be held accountable.
Speaking through his legal representative Zola Majavu-Moela distanced himself from the torture of patrons.
"We will allow the police to do their work and where they need support or assistance from my client they will get that support obviously within reason. If the police take the view that they now regard him as a suspect then of course his constitutional rights kick in just like any other person's rights but so far he's coparting on a voluntary basis."
