JOHANNESBURG - The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has given Joburg Water seven days to respond to demands contained in a memorandum for putting a stop to so-called water shedding.
The party led a march from Braamfontein in Johannesburg to the utility's offices in the city centre, demonstrating frustration over recurring water cuts in some areas.
The protest action comes as residents continue to contend with dry taps due to supply challenges.
Party spokesperson, Sinawo Tambo, said that the party would take action if the utility failed to provide a plan urgently.
"After those seven working days, if no plan is made to provide water to our people there must be a complete revamp of water management and infrastructure in Joburg and that will be led by the EFF."
