Three new patients with Mpox recovering at home - Health Department
It confirmed on Friday that three new cases were reported in the country.

CAPE TOWN - The National Health Department says the three patients who tested positive for Monkeypox (Mpox) are recovering and are self-isolating at home.
It confirmed on Friday that three new cases were reported in the country.

This brings the total number of Mpox cases detected in South Africa to 28.
The virus is currently circulating in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.
Health Department spokesperson Foster Mohale urged the public to be cautious around people displaying Mpox symptoms.
"The symptoms include a rash which may last for 2 - 4 weeks, fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain, low energy and swollen glands. Mpox is typically a mild and self-limiting disease with a low case fatality rate.”
