JOHANNESBURG - The City of Tshwane has announced the three-day closure of the Rosslyn clinic, which services residents in Rosslyn and surrounding areas.
The facility, which serves hundreds of outpatients daily, has been forced to shut down due to ongoing sewerage issues affecting the metro.
In recent years, the city has struggled with sewage problems, including blocked pipes, overflowing manholes, and untreated wastewater contaminating streets and rivers.
Officials cite ageing infrastructure, poor maintenance, and illegal dumping as major contributors to the crisis.
The clinic is expected to reopen on Monday.
City spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said, “To access primary healthcare services, customers are directed to visit the nearest clinics: Karen Park clinic, Jack Hindon clinic, KT Motubatse clinic, and Soshanguve block TT clinic. If all goes well, the clinic should be operational again by Monday.”
