DURBAN - Residents in KwaZulu-Natal are being warned of more disruptive rains in the province.

At least seven bodies were discovered on Wednesday following floods, with the Lamontville area being the most affected.

Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma has called on residents to avoid unnecessary travel until conditions improve.

"The reality is that these rains might have vanished right now, but they have not subsided. We are still being told that tomorrow it is still going to be like this. So, we are still issuing that service that things are not yet normal."

Duma said resources have been bolstered for clean-up operations.

"So, it’s among those things that we are here just to give that comfort and that solace that government works for them. It’s unfortunate that the weather pattern continues to be like this."
